Bio

Roger Morris (REMO) is a New Zealand-based artist whose work exists at the crossroads of realism, dissent, and meticulous craft. Trained in traditional techniques but driven by an unflinching eye for the hidden architecture of power, Morris uses painting, printmaking, and type to interrogate the world around him. His works often explore suppressed histories, media manipulation, and the fragile boundary between truth and propaganda.

Working under the name REMO, Morris combines documentary precision with artistic subversion. He pulls from declassified files, overlooked headlines, and public amnesia to build layered visual narratives that are both beautiful and disturbing. Few artists are willing to walk this line—fewer still do so with such clarity, wit, and technical control.

For Morris, realism isn’t an aesthetic choice—it’s a responsibility. His art invites the viewer not to escape reality, but to see it more clearly.
